Task 3: “The Importance of communication skills for engineers”

“Communication skills are an essential component in the education of engineering students to facilitate not just students’ education but also to prepare them for their future careers.”

Marc Riemer, Faculty of Engineering, Monash University (2007)

More often than not, engineering students find themselves communicating with one another, be it for project work or even teaching each other key concepts and definitions. According to Marc Riemer, communication skills are paramount as they enhance the learning capabilities of the student, and without a doubt, honing these skills early and before entering the workforce would pay dividends as their ideas can be communicated effectively and efficiently with as little ambiguity as possible (Reimer, 2007).
